HAPPY CHANUKAH! Tonight is the first night of Chanukah. CELEBRATE WITH THE TEMPLE COMMUNITY BY COMING TO THE ROCK SHABBAT AND CHANUKAH PARTY BEGINNING IN THE TEMPLE HOUSE AT 7:30 PM. Bring your Chanukiyot, candles, and singing voices for this rockin celebration. Stay for the party following services, which will include wonderful fried sufganiyot!
THIS SUNDAY, DECEMBER 13TH, IS THE LAST DAY that you can pick up pre-ordered Chanukah Treat Boxes from the Challahs for Dallahs class at 12:45 pm in front of the Temple House.
IT IS ALSO THE LAST SUNDAY THAT YOU ANNA LEVINE IS COLLECTING TRAVEL-SIZE TOILETRY ITEMS AND SAMPLES FROM HOTELS FOR HER BNAI MITZVAH PROJECT. You can bring any items to the Religious School office. She will be making welcome packets for shelter guests at Inn Visions Georgia Travis Center in San Jose.
GREG TURETZKY WILL BE HOLDING A PURIM CARNIVAL ORGANIZING COMMITTEE MEETING THIS SUNDAY. Attendance by all Temple members is welcome, even if you are not on this committee. The meeting will start at 11:30 am in room 21 of the school building.
2010 YOUTH ENRICHMENT SCHOLARSHIP FORMS (YES), ALSO KNOWN AS CAMPERSHIP APPLICATIONS, are now available in the Religious School office. These forms will soon be available on the Temple website at www.templesanjose.org. If you are considering camp, remember to sign up early to get the session you want because spaces fill up quickly. Deadline for submitting YES forms to the Religious School office is January 31, 2010. ON JANUARY 24, 2010, REPRESENTATIVES FROM CAMP TAWONGA AND CAMP NEWMAN WILL BE HERE TO TALK ABOUT THEIR PROGRAMS. Parents are encouraged to join their children in the sanctuary at 10:15 am to find out about the programs and activities offered by our Jewish camps.
ALL 4TH 7TH GRADERS, A NOAR AND KADIMA YOUTH GROUP CHANUKAH GAME NIGHT IS COMING UP! THIS EVENT IS OPEN TO BOTH MEMBERS AND NON MEMBERS AND INCLUDES DINNER. It will be on Wednesday, December 16th, from 6 pm to 8 pm here at the Temple. A flyer was e-mailed to 4th through 7th grade families with detailed information. OUR KINDERGARTEN STUDENTS WILL BE PARTICIPATING IN THE TOT SHABBAT FAMILY SERVICE ON DECEMBER 18, 2009. The service begins at 6:00 pm and will be followed by a potluck oneg where Sisterhood will have a special craft table for students.
