Things I forgot to mention yesterday.
Additional Thank Yous…
…to Lisa Sobel for designing a bulletin cover that advertised our boutique and for handling vendor phone calls.
…to Judy Levy for running out at the last minute and purchasing more craft supplies.
…to Rabbi Magat for assisting the youth group with the food and for being a “presence”
…to those of you who purchased Entertainment and Gift Check Books (over $200 worth).
I wanted to remind you all that the Gift Checks and Entertainment books make great Chanukah presents and are available at our Gift Shop and in the Temple Office.

Publisher's Weekly says: "…in her compulsively readable latest, she sketches the intertwined fates of several young women refugees at Atlit, a British-run internment camp set up in Palestine after WWII. ... . The dynamic of suffering and renewed hope through friendship is the book's primary draw, but an eventual escape attempt adds a dash of suspense to the astutely imagined story of life at the camp: the wary relationship between the Palestinian Jews and the survivors, the intense flirtation between the young people that marks a return to life. Diamant opens a window into a time of sadness, confusion and optimism that has resonance for so much that's both triumphant and troubling in modern Jewish history."
The second book is called Blessings for the Journey…A Jewish Healing Guide for Women with Cancer.
In November 2004, a group of thirteen women gathered at Mayyim Hayyim; some were cancer survivors, others were caregivers and health care professionals. They had each wished for a specifically Jewish, spiritual guide to the difficult journey through treatment and its aftermath, and decided to join together and create one. For three years, they met to talk about their experiences, share information, and assemble resources. Blessings for the Journey is the result of their hard work and commitment.
Please check them out and we hope you enjoy reading them.
