Dear Fabulous and Amazing Knitzvah members and friends,

We have had a very successful year thanks to your participation in our projects. Your response to each of these projects has resulted in an incredible number of items given to our various organizations. Since June, 2007 we have distributed almost 1500 hats, blankets, sweaters, scarves and chair caddies to seniors, immigrants, cancer patients, preemies, infants, children and adults.

Some members of our extraordinarily gifted group have excelled in their contributions and dedication to Knitzvah. They were honored for that commitment at Jewish Family Services of Silicon Valley's annual meeting on June 25.

Congratulations to Elyse Elconin Goldberg who is Knitzvah's "GOLDEN NEEDLE VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR" for her creation and loving dedication to the very successful HATS Project which has touched the heart of every donor and recipient. Since February 2008 over 160 hats have been distributed to Stanford Cancer Center and Lucille Packard Children's Hospital. We will be adding additional treatment centers in the coming months. Thank you Elyse.

Congratulations also to this year's Jewish Family Services Outstanding Knitzvah Volunteers:

LeniSue Masters, for her beautiful and abundant creations of "granny square" blankets from her own and other contributor's squares and for always saying yes to managing various projects Molly Kaufman, for her numerous professional contributions and advice to the success of every Knitzvah project this year Renee Greene, the warm and welcoming telephone "voice" of Knitzvah The Chai House Knitters led by Lilyan Stavis: Carol Tumlinson, Faye Feinberg, Harriet Saltzman, Joan Lester, Lee Ingreham, Leone Mercer, Marian Goodman, Marjorie Margolis, Mary Jane Stevenson, and Rebecca Zuckerman for their prolific amount of hats, scarves and blankets which are delivered to JFS every week

The people who were extraordinary last year are still so this year. Our previous year's winners have continued to contribute their skill and dedication to each Knitzvah project and event. Every Fabulous and Amazing member of Knitzvah is exceptional for the kindness, warm heart, loving care and generosity put into every stitch of every item made for our projects.

If you made one item or 50; donated one skein of yarn or 200; gave one pair of knitting needles or dozens; shared your experience and skill or enthusiastically supported someone else's efforts...then you are the reason that Knitzvah has been successful. You are the reason that tears and smiles appear whenever one of our deliveries is made. You are the "mitzvah" in Knitzvah. You are truly Fabulous and Amazing.

See you on Sunday, July 20, 2008 10:30 am at Jewish Family Services 14855 Oka Road, Suite 202 Los Gatos
